Choonbi Position
Movement 1
- turn 90° left, moving left foot
into a left tiger stance (both knees bent,
rear foot flat on ground, 45° out, front foot on toe)
- right palm-fist middle block (block
downward in front of body, stopping around level of solar
plexus, with elbow bent about 90°)
Movement 2-1
- right leg front-snap kick

- step down and back with right foot
into original position, resuming left tiger stance
- left arm out-to-in middle block
Movement 3
- turn 180° right: turn by pivoting
on both feet, moving right foot into a right tiger stance
- left palm-fist middle block
Movement 4-1
- left leg front-snap kick
4-2
- step down and back with left foot,
resuming right tiger stance
- right arm out-to-in middle block
Movement 5
- turn 90° left, pivoting on right
foot, and moving left foot into a left back stance
- left (double) knife-hand low block
(with right knife hand palm-up, fixed in pit of stomach)
Movement 6
- step forward with right foot into
a right back stance
- right (double) knife-hand low block
(left knife-hadn in pit of stomach)
Movement 7
- turn 90° left, pivoting on right
foot, moving left foot into a left tiger stance
- right palm-fist middle block, with
left fist (palm-down) supporting beneath the right elbow
Movement 8
- stance same as last movement
- turn upper body 45° left, then perform
right front back-fist strike to the jaw, twisting body back
to front for increased power.
- left fist continues to support right
elbow
Movement 9
- turn 180° right: turn by pivoting
on both feet, moving right foot into a right tiger stance
- left palm-fist middle block, with
right fist supporting beneath the left elbow
Movement 10
- stance same as last movement
- turn upper body 45° right, then
perform left front back-fist strike to the jaw, twisting
body back to front for increased power.
- right fist continues to support
left elbow
Movement 11
- turn 90° left, pulling right foot
together with left foot assuming the close stance
- right fist bojumeok (punch
upward with right fist into left hand, with both elbows
bent, so that forearms are angled upward 45 degrees and
hands are at the level of the neck, close to the upper body)
Movement 12-1
- step forward with the left foot
into a left forward stance
- combination right arm low block
& left arm in-to-out middle block (Gawi Makki)

- then, perform combination left low
block & right in-to-out middle block
Movement 13-1
- step forward with right foot into
a right forward stance
- combination left low block &
right in-to-out middle block
13-2
- combination right low block &
left in-to-out middle block
Movement 14
- turn 270° left, moving the left
foot into a left forward stance
- double palms-down in-to-out middle
blocks (both fists end out in front of body)
Movement 15-1
- right Knee strike, with the fists
striking downward on both sides of the knee
15-2
- jump forward off of left foot into
a right cross stance (right foot flat, 45°
out, left leg crossed behind, on toe, both knees bent, and
shoulders square facing forward)
- simultaneous double middle uppercut
punches to the opponent's solar plexus
Movement 16
- step backward with the left foot,
assuming a right forward stance
- low cross block
Movement 17
- turn 180° right, moving right foot
into a right forward stance
- double palms-down in-to-out middle

Movement 18-1
- left knee strike, with the fists
striking downward on both sides of the knee

- jump forward off of right foot into
a left cross stance
- simultaneous double middle uppercut
punches to the enemy's solar plexus
Movement 19
- step backward with the right foot,
assuming a left forward stance
- low cross block
Movement 20
- turn 90° left, moving left foot
into a left walking stance
- left hand in-to-out backfist strike
(from chest outward, attacking side of opponent's face.
end with arm straight out, palm toward right side)
Movement 21-1
- right leg crescent (moon) kick,
using left palm as the target
Movement 21-2
- turn 90° left and step down to side
(South) with right foot into a horseback riding stance (body
and face toward the East)
- right arm elbow-strike, using left
hand as the target
Movement 22
- turn 90° right and pull the left
foot forward slightly, assuming a right walking stance
- right hand in-to-out backfist strike
Movement 23-1
- left leg crescent kick, using right
palm as the target
Movement 23-2
- turn 90° right and step down to
side (South) with left foot into a horseback riding stance
(body and face toward the West)
- left arm elbow-strike, using right
hand as the target
Movement 24
- stance is same as last movement,
but turn the head 90° left (to the South) to face opponent
- left-arm side single knife-hand
in-to-out middle block, other fist fixed at hip.
Movement 25
- turn body 180° left, moving right
foot around and to the side (South) assuming horseback riding
stance
- Body is now facing East, head is
looking to the South
- right hand side middle punch
- Ki-aup!
Return to Choonbi Position
- turn 90 degrees to left (CCW), pivoting
on right foot, bringing left foot back into choonbi position,
facing forward as in beginning.
